Membership
Our members join the Hampshire Regency Dancers for a range
of reasons, but one thing they all find to be true - we are
a friendly and social group.
We have almost as many men as ladies, though a few extra
men would be especially welcome. It wasn't unusual in the
Regency era for ladies to dance together - but dancing with
a gentleman is undeniably more fun. We vary in age from students
to seniors - but all of us come because the dancing is
FUN.
It's also excellent exercise. Don't let the stately dances
of the Jane Austen films fool you - some of the dances are
stately - but many are as effective as a good work-out at
the gym - and vastly more enjoyable!
